You might check the local English online newspaper: atencionsanmiguel.org. I'm way out of your age group, but there is always something going on at Hanks bar, especially on Taco Tuesday. The Yahoo group is:: groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Civil_SMA/info. Also, a list of bars and happenings is here: sanmigueldeallendeevents.com/music/. I'd email the author for a meet-up, which should get you going. I visit for two months every year, and always have a great time in this friendly town.
