Hi everyone|

Well I finally got here yesterday and i'm staying in Bugibba for the first two weeks while I find a more permanent place and i'm wasting no time in my search. Funnily enough I was offered an apartment by the taxi driver on the way from the airport.....his price started at 500euros and had dropped to 400euros by the time we arrived at our destination..........pity the journey wasn't a bit longer, I could have maybe got a good deal at around 250|
Viewed two properties today but neither was what i'd asked for from the agents, no surprise there
Oh well! The search goes on!

Well done Kerry

First step is always the biggest. As you have already experienced (with the taxi driver) there is a 'renters' market out there. I wont teach you to suck eggs as you have probably done your homework from here so take your time and chose wisely..........please remember that agents are not the only source of acquiring that 'des res' and if you quickly get acquainted with the locals in your area you could find that hidden gem.

Good Luck

Mike

exciting times! We are snowed under with moving boxes etc. Our stuff leaves us on the 7th and we should be in Malta around the end of the month. so hopefully we will meet up at one of the weekly sessions and compare newbies notes.

Hi Mike

According to the agents 'property goes straight away' (I somehow don't believe that to be quite true) and then they seem offended when you don't take the place they've shown you even though it was nothing like what you requested to view!

Hi Chinooks,
Good luck with your move, hope all goes well, and hope to meet you soon.

Hi Kerry

I bet they say that........if only to offload some of the 'dire' properties they may have had on their books for quite a while. Don't be pressured and stay strong (which I'm sure you are) after all it your cash and your future.  Have you tried Redmiks contact, he sounds ethical? (I too have no interest or advantage in this guy however, redmik wouldn't stand any nonsense or dodgy peeps).

Good luck with the hunt......it's out there somewhere just waiting for you to move in.

Hi Mike

Just been in touch with Reds recommended agent and arranged to see a place at the end of the week, so fingers crossed! :)

Excellent news Kerry.  Now that's sorted you can now focus on the really important stuff like nearest bars, nightlife, meet-up places, did I mention nearest bars?

Hope you settle in soon then the pressure is off and you can look forward to the upcoming spring and summer.

(just a bit jealous like)
