My passport's expiring August 22nd and was wondering if I will have enough time to get it renewed. I am going to the Embassy in Kiev on Monday and have all of my documents in order to apply for renewal. Let me know if I will be able to.

You should have no problem since you have all your documentation. Just request they expedite the process. If there is an extra charge, it is worth the fee.

I really appreciate this and also the US Embassy folks sent me this and can you confirm this is accurate,

Dear Sir,

You may not bring your birth certificate at the time of application. If it appears to be absolutely necessary, you will be told so at the time of application. In most cases, though, we are able process the passport applications without seeing birth certificates.
