DINKS in Malta

Post new topic

We're two young (late twenties) childless professionals considering moving to Malta, and the Lonely Planet from Malta paints a terrible picture of women in Malta (that they are baby factories). In our current location, I've had trouble making friends who share my career focussed lifestyle sans children, particularly female ones. I miss having people to discuss girly stuff with peers whoe are career focussed (I know, it's a bit of a unique desire), am I going to find it difficult in Malta?

The lack of reply to this post suggests to me that yes, that will be a challenge.

Hi,

I was waiting for someone else to reply to your question but I guess I will write a few lines.

The 'girly' section of our Sliema-based Expat group is also quite active outside of the regular meetings. Of course I'm not allowed to take part as I'm from the other section-))) But from rumours that reach me about what goes on at these coffee/tee/shopping/glühwein/eating-out themed activities it could well meet your girly stuff discussion requirements.

So I think it might not be that bad for girls stuff -)))

Saying that maybe I should start a mens support group ?

Hi!

I know this post is a little old but I hope (well for my sake more than yours!) that you are still encountering the same lack of interaction? I've been here a couple of months and I too have missed that! If you are still up for it, would be lovely to discuss girly/career issues over a few bevvies!
I'm in VERY early 30's :) and in the gaming industry...what a shocker! :D

I'm still here! Arriving on Feb 17th, and would love to meet up for drinks. I'll send you a message with my private email.
