Hi,

Would be interested to talk to britts expats in Saudi, Riyadh particularly. I am planning my move there in a few months, to work at king Faisal hospital.
Now that u have been thru it urselves, What advice would u give me as a single girl moving there?
Someone working at the hospital would be great.

However Everyone is welcome to comment, ofcourse! ;)

I have a number of friends working at the hospital!  They enjoy the work but do find living there a little claustrophobic and try and find activities of the site on their off days to try a break away.

Try to contact Miss_Unique she is on this site and works there.

Regards

Unfortunately, there ARE curfews for single women at the ministry hospitals.

HOWEVER--and this is pretty funny--all it means is that if you're going to miss the curfew, you shouldn't come back until the next day!

Oh my, so it is cool to sleep over, but if u r late u get reported? Looolll weird!
Btw do u work at king faisal Alliecat?

And can we have pets? As in a cat in the compound?  Or is tht subject to rules and regulations too? :S

Alliecat

You can have a cat.

Here's the thing:  they don't keep track of who leaves the compound because anybody can leave, but if you come back after curfew, since they check incoming vehicles, they've GOT ya!

So you just come back the next day--but not at like 6AM lol--but later, and for all they know, you went to the grocery store.

And yes, I believe it is a VERY weird system!!  But you'll find out that many things here have no rhyme or reason.  It's *just* the way it is ;)
