Hi all,

Well I am finally sat here in my apartment in Juffair after all the planning and anticipation!

And I'm sorry to say it, but I'm after some information again!

Now that I am here I have to start looking for jobs and so far they seem VERY thin on the ground unless you are a manager/exec/engineer.

So I was hoping that if any of you out there know of any jobs going whether you could let me know. Big ask I know but anything has to be worth a go at the moment.

I have been checking local papers, internet but to no avail :o(

So thank you to everyone who has been so helpful so far and if you can help with this please let me know.

(loaf if you're there your wisdom would be greatly appreciated here lol!)

Thank you again

haha, your wish is my command.....

Right, check the GDN website/paper everyday, it can be a bit hit and miss, but its got the highest turnover of jobs in it.

Worth registering with, and trawling the websites of, Gulf Connexions, Bayt, Monster Gulf, Mayani (not sure about the spelling on that)and any other recruitment companys you can find through google. If you send me your CV i will pass it to a friend who works in recruitment as well.

What kind of thing are you looking for?

Anyhu, dont expect anything to happen too quickly, even after youve applied for jobs, it can take them weeks to get back to you as this is Bahrain, and everyones VERY laid back. Also its Ramadan, so most people are on short hours and not much gets done. I wouldnt expect to make any progress for the next month, so take the time to enjoy your new surroundings, maybe hire a car and go explorin etc:)

Thanks loaf as ever a fountain of knowledge!

I will PM my CV if I can work out how?!.

Looking for anything with sponsorship lol! I'm a qualified teacher but want to avoid where possible (long story) unless it's working with 16+ otherwise I have worked in sales, admin, banking, promotions to name but a few! So whatever I can find.

Completely forgot about the ramadan go slow - will bear that in mind.

Thanks again and take care

haha no problem. have msgd u my email to send ur CV to, will send it out for you. with your experience you sould easily find work as a PA or something, usually fairly well paid, even if its only for the short term until you find something else. Just apply for everything, even if its not something you really want to do, there might always be another job in the company that they think you'd be better for etc.

how you likeing it out here so far anyway, I have to admit you have come for the worst of the weather, its never usually this humid, although it should pass in a few weeks:)

Things are good so far!

Apartment Leigh's company has put us in is nice and I have ventured into the malls several times but until this weekend we haven't really had much chance to explore - so looking forward to that.

Hire car is on it's way which will help but as you pointed out everything here is VERY chilled so maybe sorted by Sunday maybe not lol!

Definitely warm enough - beats the UK any day!

Any way back to the never ending joy of job hunting.

Speak soon
