Teaching English

As a (relatively!) mature aged teacher of English with years of running my own businesses I am increasingly appalled by the standard of treatment received by language schools in France. And even more by the Tertiary institutions (universities, business schools).
I would be interested to hear from other qualified and experienced teachers.
I am currently waiting to be paid by a University for work that I completed last year - they tell me I will have to wait until June - 12 months later!
I don't want this to be a whining session , but perhaps it might make the new, uninitiated teachers more aware than I have been!

Hi Waltertaylor!

Your situation does seem totally unacceptable - but have you checked your contract with the university?

They are probably hoping you will have left the country or forgotten about things - but I think getting legal advice might be too costly.

For other would-be teachers - TEFL teachers are certainly not in short supply with Brits, Americans, Australians etc etc flocking here. Pay and conditions can be poor.
