Studying in Malta

Post new topic

Profanius

Hello all.

This is my first time using the forum so please be gentle.

I'm a UK citizen, currently living in the UK and applying to study post-graduate medicine here. It's all going well but I've been seriously considering applying to the University of Malta as well to study medicine.

I just wandered if anyone had experience of studying at the University of Malta. Also, what are your experiences of the Maltese health service? According to the WHO Malta has the 5th best healthcare system in the world, but since I would be spending my clinical years training in Maltese hospitals it would be nice to know what they are like.

I understand that Malta offers a very different way of life to the UK but I'm still trying to grasp what it's like. I don't have any illusions about working in Malta, but I've got about £30k in savings which should last five years of student living - but if I've got this wrong then please let me know.

Whether I stay in Malta after graduation is another matter, but right now it's looking a lot more attractive than the UK.

Many thanks.

Wilson
