Farm manager- manager of field of crops
We are looking for a Brazilian agriculture profesional to fill a position as the manager of field of crops in Guyana. We will be responsible for the relocation process.
This is a full time remote role in Guyana as Manager of field crops/ agricultural manager/ crop manager.
As the crop manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the growth and development of the field crops. Your tole involves supervising the implementation of the crop production, identifying opportunities and evaluating farm performance. In addition to managing and leading a team of 7 farmers.
Role Description-
This is a Full-time remote role in Guyana for a Manager of Field Crops/ Agricultural Manager/ Arable Manager/ Farmer/ Crop Manager.
As a Manager of Field Crops, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the growth and development of field crops. Your role involves supervising the implementation of the crop production, identifying opportunities, and evaluating farm performance.
Additionally, you must work with external consultants, agronomists, and research scientists to develop new growing methods and varieties, maintain quality control, and identify and manage any risks that may arise.
• Perform the production plan as received from the farm manager
• Identifying and sorting through priorities in a complex and evolving work environment, able to react to shifting priorities due to weather, grazing conditions, staffing, etc.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization and appearance of farm facilities and machinery
• Trimming and distribution of crops to the food center
• Production and storage of crops
• Irrigation, spraying and maintenance of the fields and crops
• Maintain responsibility for farm planning including crop rotations, harvest tracking & reporting
• Oversee crop insurance planning and implementation
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy or Crop Management, or relevant field; or equivalent years of experience
• 5 years of experience in managing field crops
• Excellent knowledge of agronomy, crop physiology and soil science
• Understanding of best practices in irrigation and water management, pest and disease control, nutrient management and agronomic practices
