Formalities for travelling to Romania

           Citizens from America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most European countries do not need an entry visa to visit Romania for a period equal or shorter than ninety days. Citizens of non-EU countries need a valid passport, for at least six month from the day you entry into Romania. Citizens from EU countries can entry into Romania with either their passport or Identify Card.

A traveler can enter or leave Romania with $10,000 in cash or checks; any amount extra needs to be declared at Customs. Your are also allowed to bring 200 cigarettes, 250 g of tobacco or 50 cigars, 20 rolls of camera film, 4 liters of wine, 4 liters of beer or 2 litters of liquor and medicines for own use.

If you want to travel with pets, you need to bring a Veterinary Health Certificate and a proof of rabies vaccination, not older than 6 month. You need to translate these documents, unless they are in English, French or German. You are allowed to travel by train or bus with your pet, but if you have large dogs, they need to wear a muzzle.

To travel to Romania, there are not needed any immunizations or health precautions, because in Romania there are no infectious risks or poisonous insects.

If you are not a citizen of the previously mentioned countries, you need to obtain a visa. In order to obtain it, you must submit to the diplomatic missions and consular offices a written invite from an individual or a juridical person, serving the following purposes:

a) To visit - Romanians domiciled in Romania or foreigners holding a valid residence permit can make an invite, submitting the following documents:

1. identity card for Romanian citizens or residence permit for foreigners, in original and copy;

2. proof of accommodation invited alien;

3. proof of the availability to ensure the maintenance of alien in the amount of 30 Euros per day for the entire period for which he is invited (bank statement, certificate of salary);

4. copy of the document for crossing the state border belonging invited alien;

5. two photos of size 3 x 4 cm of the invited alien;

6. taxes

b) To travel ' companies can make invitations, nominal for each invited foreign, with the following documents:

1. certificate of registration and status of the company, original and copy;

2. empowerment of the company for the person appointed to invite on its behalf;

3. identity card or residence permit, as applicable, the authorized person;

4. copy of the document for crossing the state border belonging to the invited alien;

5. two photos of size 3 x 4 cm of the invited alien;

c) To do business ' companies with the establishment in Romania can make invitations, usually for 3 people at the same time. On behalf of the companies can invite only those who are assigned by law to represent that company or are holders of a majority capital. In this case it is necessary to present the following documents:

1. certificate of registration and status company, original and copy;

2. prove the quality of the person invited to the company name;

3. identity card or residence permit, as applicable, the authorized person;

4. copy of the document for crossing the state border belonging invited alien;

5. two photos of size 3 x 4 cm of the invited alien;

6. proof of alien guest accommodation during their stay in Romania.
