Starlink subscription

A little tip for anyone who considers subscribing to Starlink: You need to subscribe on their website Starlink.com, where you can also order the satellite dish, which seems very convenient. But I recommend to buy the receiver locally or at Mercadolivre or Shoppee, wherever it is available, because if you order it from Starlink, there is a good chance that it will take an eternity to arrive. In my case it took over 6 weeks, and the Starlink support considers this to be normal.

Hey Kurt....

Not that I'm going to order it, but, does Starlink corporate ship from a Brasilian domiciled warehouse, or does it come from outside the country ?

6 weeks seems horrible for anything I've bought here, unless it's coming via Correios.

Your suspicion is spot on: Starlink does use a Brazilian-domiciled warehouse (partnered with DHL in São Paulo) for local orders, but the notorious "6 weeks" timeline is caused by severe Anatel/customs approval delays and decentralized regional logistics.

Even though it is a domestic ground shipment once it leaves the warehouse, Starlink officially quotes a delivery window of 10 to 42 days for Brazil—an outlier compared to most other countries.

I'm simply shocked because I literally just had three 18 litre pails of paint delivered by truck from Sao Paulo  to Rio in 5 calendar days. Granted, it's the most populous transit corridor in the country, but, Kurt lives close to Salvador, and that's not exactly in the middle of nowhere either.

At least he has it now.
