Looking for suggestions for Skype phone number

Happy Holidays to all:

As most probably know, Skype phone #s are over. That is, the ability to have a U.S. phone number to receive calls and texts is no longer being renewed.

Does anyone know of a RELIABLE alternative.

I see alternatives on the web but have no idea which are for real and which are bogus.

My personal needs are for occasional calls or texts to a US phone number.

I have Mint mobile for $15 a month and it supports wireless calling. So as long as I can connect to a wireless network I can call and text with my US number when I'm in Brazil. I use a 2 sim phone so I can also have a local Brazil sim card too. I think there have been a couple of other threads with a similar question.
