Expat in USA from 1/1-24

John Vånemo

Hi all, so a Swedish family on our way to Muskegon - MI. Work related.

Family, wife to teenage kids. What to think of? taxes, housing, regular living cost like electricity, internet, heating, food and so, School, sports Soccer and gymnastics.

It seem good. Paid moving cost, small things like utilities, furniture and so on. Suggested salary is annual 170.000$.

So tips tricks, salary good enough for family of 4? Other things we need to take in consideration

Apricate any feedback.

John

Well, I live on the other side of MI, but I visit Muskegon usually over the winter to go to the Winter Sports Park with my family.

As far as the cost of living, what I see on Numbeo looks reasonably accurate.  A salary of $170k will be way more than adequate to live nicely there.  The median household income there is around $57k, for reference.
