Hello everyone,

Moving abroad can be particularly hard on children. For any parent planning a move to Mexico, it is of utmost importance to make sure they do everything in their power to make sure their childrens transition is as smooth as possible. Would you be able to give a few tips to parents planning to move to Mexico by answering the following questions on children integration?

What does one need to factor in when choosing a new school for their children in Mexico?

How does one prepare their children for the transition into a new school in Mexico?

How does one help their children integrate into their new school? Any tips to help a child transitioning into a completely different new program or curriculum?

Is there an age period during which a child really should change schools?

What are the signs that a child is having trouble transitioning into their new school?

I don't have any school-age children so there is no experience I can share about Mexico specifically. But I can offer a suggestion which would be to get to your new town early. Allow a few months of adjustment to all of the new things.

An early introduction will allow the children to adjust without the school pressure. Having raised three children I can say a lot of new things at once tends to be a disaster for children even if they know the country, town, and language.

BEFORE U SHOW UP, INVESTIGATE. LOTS OF TOWNS R STRICTLY SPANISH SPEAKERS. HERMOSILLO, LOTS OF AMERICAN FAMILIES THERE FIND OUT WHERE EXPATS RESIDE. THATS WHERE U WANT TO BE.BECAUSE OF JUAREZ'S PROXIMITY TO EL PASO TX, LOTS OF 'ENGLISH SPOKEN HERE'. TEXANS SHOW UP HERE ON WEEKENDS TO SHOP. THERE R A FEW BI-LINGUAL SCHOOLS HERE.
