Queretaro

Lived in Queretaro for several years and will be moving back in a couple weeks.  Happy to help with any specific questions.

Could you recommend a realtor to help with a rental?  I have two dogs, and would be looking for a pet friendly accommodation.  Any areas you particularly like in the city?  Do you know anything about the wine region as far as living there?  Where did you live?  I love the looks of the centro, but wonder if it's too noisy.

Any suggestions, tips are most welcome.

Sorry for the delay!  I didn't receive a notification about your response.

My wife actually works in real estate here in Queretaro, so we could help you with that.  She is one of the few who was born in Queretaro.  So many people have moved here from other parts of Mexico that Queretanos are a rare find!

As far as wine, I was in a local vineyard just a couple weeks ago.  There are a few that are just 40 minutes from the city.

I live in Corregidora, which is a separate municipality next to Queretaro.   That being said, it's only a 5 minute drive to Queretaro proper. 

I lived in el centro many years ago when I was single.  Many areas of the city can be noisy.  It would depend on which part of the centro you were in, but yes, if you were in the heart of downtown, noise would be constant.  Walking distance to the plazas is wonderful but there is a price you pay (no pun intended) for that easy access.

There many areas of Queretaro that are picturesque.  Depends on what you're looking for.  Alamos is near the famous arches of Queretaro (los arcos).  Juriquilla is new and modern with lots of amenities but not the old world charm of el centro.

Finding a place to rent with dogs can be a challenge but very doable.  I had a dog years ago and managed to rent a place but it took me a lot of effort to find options.
