Saltillo for us?

An acquaintance on Facebook in a Mexico group is encouraging us to come enjoy living in Saltillo, as she does, having moved there from Houston. We're elder retirees. I'm 80, she's 67, from snowy and humid Massachusetts. We are non-religious alternative-leaning progressive democrats, flexible with humor. We are only beginners with Espanol. We like the idea of being geographically high and dry, warm, and in a non-seismic area, close to the border. My son and grandkids live in Los Angeles. I've also considered around Ensenada. Because of hip surgeries I'm also wanting as flat of a place as I can get, with few if any stairs.
