Hi Christine, This is a very old post but maybe you still check back here from time to time so I will answer.

There is a lot to do in Winnipeg, summer or winter:

Summer: camping, fishing, shopping, canoing, sitting on a patio having a drink, folk festival (music) fringe festival (plays) jazz festival (music) food festival (food lol) swimming at the beach, pinawa dam, whiteshell provincial park, cycling, Visit Assiniboine Park, etc etc etc LOTS to do in the city in the summer

Winter: Cross country skiing, downhill skiing, skating, tobogganning, french festival (called festival du voyageur), bar bands, shopping etc

All year round - MB museum, Wpg art gallery, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, opera, Winnipeg Zoo (to see Polar bears), Human Rights museum, Dalnavert museum, gambling at the casino.

There are many more things to do. Do you have any specific questions?
