means "record cant be found", means it is fake.

Thank you. But are you sure this is the site.. because I checked my friends residency card which he entered Turkey with few weeks ago, and the site gave the same answer, not found.

And this web site heading is "Foreign ID Number Verification" and it doesn't say Residency Card

we have a foreign employee with a card that reads:
TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ İKAMET İZNİ / REPUBLIC OF TURKEY RESIDENCE PERMIT
and i used the same link to check the authenticity, it worked.

This is really very strange.. But does that employee have a Foreign ID also? Because this site could be for those who already have Foreign ID also on top of the Residency card. What do you think?

i think there is nothing else called "foreign id", we are talking about same cards.

yes i live in turkey.
199 is the number to call but i dont know how to call from another country, may be +90 199 only. there are auto-reply menus with different languages.

This is actually quite common. The lawyer probably mistyped some information when they applied on your behalf for the residency card. Maybe family name or father/mother name or even date of birth. Even one incorrect letter or space means it will not show the information. You have to make sure that the information you enter on the link is the same as what was entered on the application, so my recommendation is that you ask your lawyer to send you a copy of the application and you use the exact same information. When you come to Turkey you can correct it. Another option is that you inform your lawyer that the card is showing as invalid, and they MUST look into why this is the case and resolve it.

Thank you.. but do we really need to see what was on the submitted application since I do have the residency Card already and I am entering all the details that are on it letter by letter. As all the required details on the inquiry site are written on the card itself.

Also, I check a further another card and same output, it can't be that 3 cards are fake. Maybe this is checked on a different site and not these ones.

What we are saying is that the information you are entering does not match the information in the system. A common error for example is that the common date format in Turkey is dd/mm/yyyy (day, month, year) in that order. Other common issues are misspellings of names (first, last, father, mother). All this information is shown on your card, so if you are entering the information correctly in the correct fields and still you are getting the same error, and you are sure none of the letters have been entered using the Turkish alphabet for example (ĞÜİŞÇÖ), then the next conclusion would be that the card is fake in which case you should refer back to your lawyer as I mentioned in my earlier response.

@Borraro Incorrect — it doesn’t mean it’s fake. It usually means the credentials were entered incorrectly or don’t exist. For example, an attorney may have used Turkish characters, or entered the full names of the parents (given, middle, and surname) instead of just the first name.

An attorney cannot apply for a residence permit on behalf of someone abroad. You must be physically present in Türkiye to provide biometrics and fingerprints — this applies to all permit types (investment, real estate, tourism, family, student, etc.). A power of attorney from abroad does not allow an attorney to submit residence applications on your behalf; this has been the rule for several years.

Note: You cannot proceed past the document page unless your passport was recently scanned at a Turkish border. The system cross-checks with border-gate records. The only way forward is to begin the application while in Türkiye and keep it active; if it times out, you must return to reapply.

Checking the YKN system only confirms that a number exists — it does not verify whether it is active. The only valid way to confirm activity is for the holder to log in via e-Devlet or another authorized channel. Other verification methods are strictly regulated and limited to companies with official authorization.

YKN numbers do not expire. Once issued, a Foreigners Identification Number (Yabancı Kimlik Numarası) remains valid for life. However, while the number itself is permanent, the residence permit linked to it can expire or be cancelled if not maintained.

If you applied while in Türkiye and left before the result was issued, you can still check remotely. Log in to the official Göç page, or review the approval document your attorney provides. Each approval includes a barcode PDF that can be scanned with the Belge mobile app. To validate online, the details must be entered exactly as shown on the PDF — even a single mismatch will cause the system to reject it.
