zb_kh

Dont know if anyone can help me but...

I have a situation which i need help with...I have lived all my life in Saudi and possess a Student Iqama. Now that I have acquired a job here, what is the procedure of transferring to a professional Iqama? Also, my Graduate degree certificate is not attested by Saudi Embassy yet. I am an indian by the way.

Can anyone help me with this?

As far as my understanding goes, here it is:
1. Get your degree attested.

next steps from other people here...and i am sure even ur dad might be of great help on this

I went through the same procedure.

so what you need is firstly to get your degree attested.

Your new/Current Employer needs to give you a letter that they want your iqama to be transfer.

Your DAD - putting that letter as reference  needs to get the release letter from his company.

and Thats about it Mainly

You take your Iqama , the letter from Your Dad.

Iqama transfer fee - i believe it will be from ur current company

and you are good to go :)

good luck:)

Thanks Nauman...

Another question....with regards to the Degree being attested..since I am already an Iqama Holder, do I need to show the Saudi Embassy in India some offer letter to have my degree attested?? Or can I make do with just a copy of my passport and my Iqama

meetnauman

Well i m not certain about Indian Embassy .

But i had to show my Offer letter to Saudi Embassy in Pakistan.

so i assume its the same Rule.

Ok...but did you need the Offer Letter to be attested by Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Foreign Affairs??

Thanks.

meetnauman

off-course :)

Chamber for sure - don't remember about the Ministry of Foreign Affair

for getting the degrees attested, y do u or they need to see ur passport or iqama?? u just go and get it attested. carry a passport copy.
if doing in saudi arabia, then u need iqama for doing anything...ANYTHING!

Hi there,
you guys have been of great help can't thank you all enough!!

i do have some more questions though.

1} What if the job i have ended up with is a sales assistant job and my graduation is majoring in computer science? and i do not have any experience on paper in the sales field, will there be any problems with that?

2} I have the job in the same company as my father (who is my sponsor) but in the riyadh branch. if anyone can tell me does this make any difference? will it make anything easier/harder?

thank you

P.S. my profession on iqama is listed as a student.

We used to tell the guys to take their Iqama along when they excused themselves from a meeting in order to take a leak

@Mmajid Yes you can, as long as the sponsor makes the application to the relevant authorities (Passport/Labor Offices). I know several similar cases when it was done before.
