In honor of Halloween, what's your favorite scary movie??

I admit I am partial to zombie movies, but my all around fav scary movie that doesn't have to resort to a lot of special effects is The Shining!

Grave Encounters-1
Scream and Cabin in the Woods.

I'm a sucker for the way Joss Wheedon subverts the genre...
Shutter Island- Would not call it a horror, though pyscho thriller!

The Shining-Jack Nicholson? very famous movie.
Sleepy hollow-another good horror movie starring Johnny Depp
A serbian movie
How about the original, "Night of the Living Dead" ??
@ Allie: yeah,Duane Jones I guess. .very old movie, don't exactly remember it :)
I love the twist in "The Others" starring Nicole Kidman. Not to mention Asian horror movies are really scary e.g. "the Ring", "The Grudge etc.
Michael Myers "Halloween" (film seires)
How about 'The Thing'?  There are 3 versions of this.  The old black and white one, the original, is scary as hell because you don't now what to expect.  The more recent ones are good but.. you know what to expect
i like the twist in "Saw" although dont count it as horror....
also liked "insidious"
and heard that "Sinister" is a good movie....has anyone seen it?

That's the problem. What's counted as horror now comes mixed with thrill, mystery, bloodshed and everything else.

Imdb classifies Wrong Tunn 5 as Horror, Thriller. For me, it had none from both :)

I do count Mirrors series as horror. I guess most who watched would get creeps standing in front of mirrors. At least for the first couple of hours :D

Wrong turn 3 and 4 it's scary and unpredictable.
