@zooish as a British woman married to a jordanian for many years. I first went to live in jordan in 1993. I stayed there for many years. I found my mother in law very controlling which lead to many arguments. It became so stressful. The family I married into were very religious so everything was errb. It was a nice experience however I could never live there again. We ended up divorcing. If your in laws are wealthy generous and open minded go for it.

I'm in the states married to a Jordanian and can relate. Going on 2 years married, facing some heavy decisions now.. even though here, traditions stick strongly, which IS so hard to understand.
