LMRA Mobility Application Rejected by GDNPR – Anyone Faced

Hi everyone,

I submitted a mobility/transfer application through LMRA for an employee, but the application was rejected by GDNPR with the following message:

“This expat cannot work for you as he/she is still registered with a valid permit under a different CR (his/her current employer).”

As I understand, the employee currently has a valid work permit with the existing employer, but I thought the mobility process was intended to transfer the employee from the current employer to the new employer.

Has anyone faced the same rejection before?

Do you know what needs to be done by the current employer or the new employer before submitting the mobility application? Does the existing work permit need to be cancelled first, or is there another procedure required through LMRA/GDNPR?

Any experience or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.
