Thanks Anthony111 for advocating Armenian business atmosphere
Though my comments on the topic won't be promising.
As an Armenian national with BA in economics I can state the following:
the recent researches show that transactional risks very high due to weak legislation or not professional application of it.
Not always the courts will be just.
There is risk that some smart fellows would try to play on your poor knowledge of the Armenian laws.
And the most there is little chance that your right of property will be protected as it should be.
Antony is right stating about international brands that have entered, but the case is different with individual entrepreneurs,
And about the mafia: there is no such one here, well, at least whilst you are not a sweet peace of pie for a certain government representative or one that has a protection of such.
Anyway for example IT is welcomed and flourishing here especially when you use local specialists combined with outsourcing the orders.
couple words about taxes
the corporate tax is only 20% (there are couple more taxes that you still are obliged with its a little complicated) but the problems is that you usually pay not what you have calculated in real but what tax authorities think that you have to pay.
