Public Weighbridges in Tenerife

dramatherapist

Hi my parents are returning to England from La Jaca in Tenerife and we hav sorted the ToR1 etc.  But our last minute query is load weight of the lorry that I will be driving.  Is there anywhere on the island including Santa Cruz where there is a public or private weighbridge to check weight before we sail.  If not it will be guesswork and the the kids who live in Tenerife will bet some of the stuff.

Thank you for any help supplied.

Try googling

báscula de puente

Or failing that try finding a transport company who run trucks.   They should be able to help I would think

Hi thanks.  Yep, tried that and and there was nothing listed other than companies selling weighbridges!  It did mention one at the port but could not get details how to access it.

Hi we will be leaving Tenerife on the midnight ferry to Cadiz on the 21st September and still have not located a weighbridge or báscula de puente we have tried a number of companies around the south of the island without any luck. ...

Ok, so we got to Cadiz travelling from uk via newhaven/dieppe then cadiz in three days.  Where we were told that the hire van is no longer a van but a lorry thus had to buy another ticket for it! We had to find Transmed's shipping agent, more to be posted about that, [possibly another thread.  However, despite having a TOR1 we were told that on our return to Cadiz that a customs levy will need to be paid a percentage of the contents of the van.  I guess we thought that the TOR1's information would be suffice for entry into Europe.  My aged-ed relative will be heading to the shipping agent in Santa Cruz Tenerife to sort later today before our arrival.  Hopefully to ensure a smooth passage at once back in Cadiz with the same information supplied for the TOR.   As we were not residing in mainland Spain and travelling to uk.  However, our main concern in weight still, with roadside checks and all!  So within the next couple of days with a quick turn around we will be on the way back and still need a weighbridge in Tenerife.  Have the community any advice on the above?  David.
