I don't know where in Spain you are but I am in Valencia. I had the same problem with my TIE renewal. Even though I had a company (in a different city than Valencia) help me get my VISA reapproved, for several months they tried to get me an appointment but could not. I ended up paying a local company that somehow has the ability to get appointments within Valencia. That company was Settle Easy. I paid a small fee to him and less than two weeks later, he had an appointment booked for me. So, if you are in Valencia, contact that company. If you are in another city, find a local relocation company in that city and see if they can help you. Good luck!

It is very difficult at the moment. It took me ages to get a TIE renewal apartment. I can only speak for my province of Almeria, but the situation may be the same where you are.  First of all, they can only be booked online - this is your starting point https://sede.administracionespublicas.g … o/icpplus.

I spent three weeks trying to secure an appointment using the above url, but with no joy. Then, I stumbled upon an email address and managed to write directly to the national police, again only for Almeria. They told me that they release about 200 appointments every day at around 13:30 or 14:00. If this is the same where you are, you could go online and try and book an appointment at these times. The email address I found is policia_oex_almeria@correo.gob.es - perhaps substitute Almeria in the email address for your province to contact them directly. If you send an email, write in Spanish as you may get a quicker response. Best, Paul

After trying every day for 5 weeks we finally have our appointment at the police station for our TIE cards (finger prints). Keep trying the website folks  new appointments do become available.

It took me 4 weeks of applying online morning, noon and afternoon every day.  Finally on a Friday lunchtime I got to choose from times at Alzira (30mins drive from me), Valencia region, for the following week.  I have just come back from the appointment and it was efficient.  In a month, I have to make an appointment to collect the card, but she said it's much easier to get that.

I didn't use the Mercurio, but that might be quicker.  Also make sure you have the EX17 not 23.  Good luck.
