Dutch schools-Is there a deadline for admissions' applications?

Teraina

Hello

I was wondering if anyone could give me info about Dutch pre-schools. Is there a deadline for admissions' applications? What if an expat family arrives in the country post those deadlines? Could the child be admitted at any point at a local pre-school?
Any help with where I should start my school search for pre-schools (3-4 years old kids) ?

Thanks  :)

Hey there. Pre schools, just like primary schools and secondary schools, have long waiting lists. Basically, you will have to reserve a place before the kid is being conceived, but most people wait until the child is born. That is, if you want your kid to go to a high class school and if you live in an urban area. If on the other hand you live in a rural area and you don't mind a school in a lesser neighbourhood, you might have a chance of putting your child to pre school right away.
