Considering Netherlands

Rocksolidbeauty

I am a 28 year old male and I am looking to move to the Netherlands or Canada with my partner.  We have been together for  two years and both looking to move to our forever home. we are considering both Canada and Netherlands to make our forever home. I am a Canadian citizen and my partner Is a Serbian  Citizen we are both living here in the Cayman Islands.   I have been living here for six years and my partner three years we are considering to move to Canada and get my partner permanent residency. We are looking to move to a place that we can get settled down and stay forever. what is your experience of moving to and living in the Netherlands? is that something that is possible for us to move and to reside permanently and get citizenship eventually? we are both hairstylists and English speaking we are definitely willing to learn the Dutch language as well. We are both hairstylists.   I specialize in naturally curly hair I am hoping to move somewhere where there are lots of curly clients I did visit Amsterdam in the summer and noticed that there is a lot of curly people there.  I am really confused as to which direction to go as Canada is my home country. Do you think as a hairstylist that both of us would eventually be able to purchase a home somewhere in the Netherlands and live a comfortable life? we are coming from the cayman Islands we are used to a certain level of lifestyle here. what is your experience? has anyone lived in both the Vancouver area as well as somewhere in the Netherlands I am looking to get some insight on what the best choice for us would be. I absolutely love the Liberal lifestyle in the Netherlands and I am not sure if I am ready to move back to Canada yet.   What we are wondering which process is easier?  We are aware that there is a lot of paperwork to fill out either way we are hoping to make a choice that is going to benefit both of us in the long run.

Hi there and welcome to the Forum.

To be honest, although some may well question your sanity to leave a Caribbean paradise island to move to anywhere, let alone Amsterdam or Vancouver, I can't think of any reason why being a hairstylist of any type of hairstyle would prevent you or your partner from being able to purchase a home somewhere in either place and live a comfortable life.  I've been to both Vancouver and Amsterdam and they're both great places and I'm sure both will have people with curly hair.

At the top of the page is a link to our Discover section, within which is our "The Netherlands Guide", please read it and if your or your partner have any further specific questions, please come back to us.

Hope this helps.
