University of Groningen vs University of Twente

Anamitra

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to pursue my graduate studies (Computer Science) in the Netherlands next year. I have received offer letters for MSc in Computer Science from the universities of Groningen and Twente and I can't decide which one to choose. As far as I've seen, both of these universities have very promising programs, good faculty and excellent research work.

Graduation is a big deal for any student, particularly if the student is going out of his/her country (which in my case is India). I figured the best place to look for opinions would be this website. Can you guys help me decide which university should I go with and why?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Groningen is better ranked than Twente; so if you're looking to work in a business where things like that matter, then Groningen would be a better choice.  You should be aware, however, that no Dutch university is in the world Top 50, the top campus is Utrecht, which is ranked 61st, Groningen is 91st and Twente is 227th - the message is, considering that you're paying for it, you could do a lot better.

Hope this helps.
