Alabama or Mondragone

My parents are from Formicola. They raised 6 boys that have all (except for myself) made at least one trip to "the old country". I'm now retired, still living in upstate(Cohoes) NY and am still within 5 miles of all my brothers. Would it be very difficult to pull up stakes and buy a home in Compania? How long typically does the process take? I'm not a world traveler but I just renewed my passport

Much more complicated than you think.   You will need an appropriate visa to stay in Italy, a Schengen visa to get into Europe and a property in Italy as well as money in the bank.    And it will be a culture shock.   Might be worth thinking about long holidays instead of relocating for good.   Plus the fact, you've never been there!  Id go for a holiday, (once you can) and then you can think a bit more objectively about it.
