My brother is applying for citizenship, but he is still waiting for about a year now. He has spent 5K so far. That was discounted as he is applying with my niece. He is living in California. Our grandparents came from the Bari area.

Hi! I don’t know the one from Canada but I have many friends dis from Brazil but since you are applying for an Italian citinzenship the process is the same.. it’s a long process and expensive since you need to prove that your grandparents born in Italy.. so the lawyer need to do research in the archive when they born in Italy and so.. pay the taxes of access to them and so on.. since you apply, Italy takes time to elaborate your request.. I know for PEOPLE that live here after 10 years it takes 2 years.. but if a son or a daughter come  in Italy for study a parents doesn’t need a citizenship to come.. a normal study visa and for the parent ricongiungimento is ok until you wait for the citizenship.. I hope I have been useful
