Change of employer

Maddy90

I will be entering Germany in September 2021 as I have a full time work contract from my employer A. Visa issued for 6 months is on my passport. Visa here is an employment Visa and not a blue card.

As I understand , I would have to apply for the residence permit once I land in Germany.

Could you please let me know if i have to change the employer in December 2021 to employer B and apply for a blue card.

1.what is the procedure to switch employers?

2. Will it be a problem to switch to a different employer when the residence permit is not issued yet and visa is on my passport?

I don't understand what you are saying.

You have a contract from employer A and you plan to enter Germany on a visa that was issued based on this work contract.

Yet, you have an employer B waiting for you to show up and then you want to apply for a residence permit on the basis of a new work contract?

So, you actually do not intend to ever work for employer A?

No, you don't have to. Since it adds complication and uncertainty to your new life in Germany, I would not do it.

If your work visa is (very likely) tied to working at employer A, you'd have to apply for a new one. Contact your local Ausländeramt for this.

Well, you'd have to start from scratch again. Possible, but not advisable (in my opinion)!

Thank you!
