If you are employed or in another situation where it is compulsory, you have to join the official German health insurance system. In this case read about it in related posts on this forum.
My following recommendation only applies if you are free to choose any (e.g. travel) insurance:

As university student, you have to join the official system.
There is a subsidised rate for students in the public scheme. It costs around €80/month (fixed for all insurers).
