Note: To my knowledge, you must be resident in Germany to ppen a German brokerage account. If at all there is a way around this, it’s going to be complicated. So if you reside abroad, you are better advised to open a brokerage account in your country that allows trading in German stocks - at least within the EU this is very common.

This is really the kind of thing one should google rather than relying on someone’s opinion. Most brokerage transactions still run over the banks in Germany despite a normal commission of 5% on most transactions. But they claim they are giving “full service” which means they make recommendations, something from my experience is usually worthless. The modern approach is to find an online discount brokerage platform. They are still regulated but one will want some extra level of safety that they are not a fly by night operation. Besides security, easy of usage might outweigh a slight difference of commission levels. Without endorsing or guaranteeing accuracy, I am posting below a few results for comparisons of such services I came up with by googling “discount brokerage Germany”.
