Work in France

Trissia Joseph

Hello, i am from Mauritius and willing to come to work in France(Nice). All travel and accomodation expenses will be on my own expense. I have applied for jobs on various job sites in France, but all of them have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions for me please.

Many Thanks,

Trissia Joseph

Hi Trissia,

The administrative hassle of employing a foreigner is horrific. No employer would go through that for an ordinary job.

I have two suggestions for you. The first is to look through the "métiers en tension" for the region you are interested. If you hold degrees or have experience in those domains, you might find employment more easily. The second is to consider applying for a student visa. It will be much easier to get a job once you are in France.

Do note that the job market is not in the best condition. You might have to settle for SMIC (minimum wage) for a certain time. Or maybe even a very long time. Or you might find it hard to get a job at all. It depends on luck and your attitude.

Bon courage!
