Work in France

aysia23

I am an American currently living in France on an au pair visa. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and I am fluent in English. I am learning French and would love to explore part-time or entry-level opportunities, ideally English teaching, tutoring, or psychology-related roles...

I am also interested in advice on how to legally transition to other work opportunities while in France, given my current visa.

If you have any experience teaching, working in Psychology, or navigating the French job market as an expat, I would love to hear your tips, suggestions or any contacts that you think might be helpful. I am looking to make connections and to stay here long-term! Thank you!

The big hurdle you may have is, if your qualifications are recognised in France. Maybe contact the official body of Psychologists. You will have to search for that on the Internet as its not a subject I know.

If your VISA is specific to being an au pair you will have to change to one of the other VISAS that will allow you to work as a salaried employee or freelancer. I live in France and I do consultations on VISAS especially since I've been thru the process for 2 different types including the profession liberal. My site is [link under review] or you can email me [link under review].
