Renewal of carte de séjour post Brexit

Tracey11

I applied for a carte de séjour en February 2019 valid for 10 years and now have to renew/change it because of Brexit.  I just cannot find out how to renew it as the websites don’t have the option for this in view of Brexit.  Anyone else tried to get a renewal.?  The deadline is July 2021.

In my opinion you are not obliged to change it.  It should last you the 10 years until 2029.   I am not aware of any difference between Carte de Séjour before Brexit came into force and the current version.  But of course, my opinion is not necessarily that of the French administration.  I would ask at the local police station or 'préfecture'.

It is because it carries the mention “member state” which no longer applies after Brexit.

Hi,

We had 5 year cartes that hadn't expired but we requested new ones via the UK Gov a few months ago.  We've now received the 10-year ones (only took a couple of months).  Here's the link;

Go to the visas and residency section and there's a link to make the request.
