I am from the U.S. and live near Chicago, IL. I am a junior in high school. I can say that moving to the U.S. will be very hard for you. Our immigration laws are very stringent, and if you do choose to move here, it will take you years to become a citizen. The immigration laws are not as strict as Czech immigration laws, however. When I was in Prague someone told me it took them 10 years to become a citizen and they had to go through a long and laborious process, and they had to give up their old citizenship. While I'm pretty sure you can have dual citizenship in the U.S., it also takes a long time here. One good thing is, though, once you get here, you can start school right away! All public schools can't deny a student, even if they are not a citizen of the U.S., or even if they're here illegally, for that matter. I'm assuming you'll start high school as a senior. This will be hard for you as most high school require you to have taken certain classes to graduate. At most schools, guidance counselors will help you transfer the classes you took in the CR so you can still get credit for them here in the U.S. University, however, is a different story. It cost much more to go to college her than in Europe. Most good colleges cost upwards of $20,000 a year. Also, you must take either the ACT test or the SAT test to get into college, and you'll have trouble with those as English is not your first language and even us Americans have trouble with the tests. You'll have to take them on your own as most kids will have already took them as a junior. Hope I helped, and sorry for being long winded!
