Just to remind all pet-lovers in the group to NEVER let your guard down. Yet again, in our supposedly upmarket and genteel suburb of Sofia, someone decided that one of my neighbours shouldn't have a pet and threw poisoned food into his garden..his children found the result.

I've never met him and my cats are safe inside our house; however the ferals I've been feeding have all disappeared and I share his grief and rage..

Edit: I can't share the image of the FB post due to some forum guideline or other - sorry

What a truly despicable act, it's beyond disgusting & this type of behaviour has me raging 😡, how dare they do this! What a shame that the perpetrators weren't caught on somebody's surveillance camera.

Despite the rather "rose-tinted" notions of some folks, it's widespread in Bulgaria, and indeed the rest of the Balkans. I can't begin to imagine what possesses some "people" to do these things but unfortunately it's a fact of life here..
