Changing company account to Euros

Is it true that now we are in the Euro currency, any company accounts ( even non trading ) must be changed & registered as a Euro currency account?

There seems to be some confusion within my circle of friends.

Hi yes there is some accounting formalities that need to be done as a direct consequence of BG entering the euro . I’m seeing my accountant in Varna in May to sort the paperwork. This is so even for dormant Cos.

Yes, there is something that needs to be done. It's not as big as completely changing the company but there is an additional piece of paperwork.Β  Β It seems though the "system" automatically changed the amount of trading capital (which isn't the value of the assets but what was in the company account when the company was first set up), we need to send in a form to say we agree to the change.

There's been a thread on it with a lot more info, I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is: https://www.expat.com/en/forum/europe/b … issed.html

And something I posted there:

Changing the company paperwork for the change ofΒ  it's registered capital to EUR requires the ability to electronically sign documents in the official business register https://portal.registryagency.bg/en/home-cr
I believe anyone can apply for an electronic signature, and the site translates nicely into English. But for a one-off thing like this it might be easier to pay an accountant or lawyer. I'm doing mine through the agent I bought the house from (for a fee).

Yes. We are about to get it done. The price varies, we are paying €120 but I saw on a FB group that a real estate company wants €200.

Thanks all for replying, it looks as though I somehow missed that thread!

Thanks for the link Jane, that's really useful.

We have just changed to Euros through our immigration lawyer but there does seem to be some confusion.
