Car Breakdown Cover

What choices are there for breakdown cover in BG? Its for a BG plated car. Are there large companies like UK's RAC/AA etc?

Reliability most important to me!

Thanks in advance.

hi Henry, i don’t believe there is something like AA/RAC in Bulgaria.  insurance for such cover is available.  suggest getting Bulgaria cover on annual basis.  when abroad get cover for the trip. seems more economical.

Don't look for English copies in another country..look for similar companies who will suit your needs.

I think it's the Bulgarian insurance companies that offer this, as a Roadside Assistance insurance or similar. They also offer the legal minimum insurance (3rd party liability), and a Casco+ or fully-comp type policy. As most drivers opt for the liability only, comprehensive seems rather expensive, and there does not seem to be a formal NCD to bring the cost down. You choose your combo of Liability/Casco+/Roadside coverage, which dictates the cost of your policy.

You're looking for SBA, the BG equivalent of the AA.  Good breakdown service and you get a discount on your MOT every year.. https://www.sba.bg/home
