Quitting job on unlimited work permit

Hi all,

How long can you reside in Belgium without working, after you have an unlimited work permit?

I know they ask for employment contract for the renewal of the permit, would it be ok if I start working few months before my renewal application? Is there a minimum employment period in 1 year?

I really want to take a career break and wondering if I can do that.

Hi Burcu, you are fine up to 3 months in advance . Make sure that you have last 3 months payslips prior to your Residence Permit renewal.
