This is very similar to last year!  And the previous year as well.

Any updates?

Day 1 being considered Thursday, 38 injured and 3 dead in traffic accidents.

Massive traffic jams that went on for hours and hours headed out of Santo Domingo to the south west and towards Samana and Las Terrenas.

Many hotels and resorts at 100% occupancy except in Santo Domingo and Santiago!!!!  Empty streets in the big cities, it's awesome!

Only time of year Santo Domingo becomes a ghost town.

Las Terranans looks very busy today (Friday).

I have noticed in recent months more accidents than the past in the country.

And even in the Barriors outside the city.

Empty and calm. Day time kids in their small pools, etc but night time no music...plus I live right next to a newly build large police building....so, there on it if music gets loud....

Updates for the Semana Santa period:

27 deaths

203 accidents

276 people affected

This I believe is an increase from last year but still well below what we used to see a few years ago!

Dios Mio !!!
