E visa before Tet

Dannyroc3

I am trying to decide when I want to return to VN. I am reluctant to buy airfare first.

But with Tet coming, I am wondering what date I should apply by.

What dates will the Evisa dept not be working?

Closed for 9 days straight.

When were you thinking of applying? I'd not wait past Feb 5th to apply if your intent is to be here for Tet. The earlier you can apply, the better.

With regard to purchasing your air ticket(s), we always recommend people apply and receive their eVisa prior to purchasing their ticket(s).

Off topic, but how are you feeling about the new peepers? Healed up okay?

I'm basically  trying to decide what day, its a little complicated because I would like to fly to tx, spend a few days with family and then continue on to VN.  I also have to find a reasonable flight with a reasonable number of flight hours, I seen some over 40 hours travel time.

Peepers?

Understood.

In retrospect re my suggestion, I'm thinking an application submitted Feb 5th would be cutting it a little too close to the Tet holidays. File as early as possible, just to be safe.

Peepers. 😁

Stop it!

Nobody here can guarantee you anything.

Use an agent.

I never thought of using one of the visa-run agents.

I just did my evisa today so hopefully everything will be ok.

Good move, applying early.

Please let us know the turnaround time.

So, about those peepers...

Yeah when there's any sort of complexity involved in a Visa decision, whether it's for someone contemplating coming to Vietnam for the very first time, or someone going on a Visa run, or someone facing an issue of overlapping visas because of exit and reentry, that's the best time for anyone to turn to the agents to make sure that you've got a plan that's airtight.

I'm glad you came to a solution that works for you.

Cheers!

I did get the Visa, it took about 8 days.  By the time it came in and then the ice storm hit, flight prices jumped up of course.  That delayed my departure by more than 2 weeks.  (wasted visa days.)

You could, of course, submit a new application at a cost of $25 dollars. That, or do your exit/border run two weeks earlier than you'll be obliged to do any way.

Bear in mind that a new application would render your currently issued (but not yet used) eVisa invalid.
