Working remotely from Thailand for a foreign company — career advice

Hi everyone,

I'm from Spain and my long-term goal is to move to Thailand and live there permanently while working remotely for a company outside Thailand.

I'm currently deciding what career to study in Spain. I'm considering IT, particularly system administration and cloud (ASIR + cloud certifications), but I'm open to other career paths.

I'd really like to hear from people who are already living in Thailand and working remotely for a foreign company.

What job do you do?

What did you study or what qualifications do you have?

How many years of experience did you have before getting your remote job?

Does your employer officially allow you to work from Thailand?

If you were starting from zero today, would you choose the same career?

I'm looking for a stable professional career rather than freelancing or "get rich quick" ideas.

Any advice from people who have actually done this would be greatly appreciated.
