Island of Cebu

piattepye

I am looking into a decent area to live in Cebu, not in the center of the city, the outskirts of the city and rest of the Island of Cebu is okay. I have to be near good medical for monthly checkups just to monitor health issue and decent housing or apartment from $400 to $700 a month and quiet or not too loud an area (no karaoke) or loud bars. I like fishing but not a priority but would be nice, lakes or shoreline. Any info would be helpful.

Hope to hear from you,

Ken is my name.

Hi Ken,

While I can't help you with Cebu as I've never visited. Your accomodation budget should get you a decent abode.

We looked here for years (La Union) before we purchased or rented in your case but the main thing was yes health and management as well as reasonable shopping/services, proximity to the better half's family but like your wishes, quiet and water front, ocean for us as 25 years on a farm needed the sea change, not looked back but it did take some finding and boots on the ground will win the day. Good luck and I'm sure other members that live in Cebu will offer advice.

Cheers, Steve.

Quiet place not in the city?   Good luck with that.  Every place we have lived in Ilocos Sur and Baguio have had barking dogs available at any time day or night.  I am told it was for our protection.

Not seen you about for awhile mugtech. Not sure how the roosters would protect anyone and the barking dogs is debatable. The noise though can be very real. Pick where you live.

Sorry to hear you get lots of noise, very quiet here aside from the waves breaking.

Cheers, Steve.

Check out Minglanilla to the south. It's seaside with some nice new developments. Far enough from the centre not to have the same traffic issues but close enough to be connected via jeepneys
