I'm looking for health insurance. I'm in the Philippines on a marriage visa and I understand medicare is not available here. Any suggestions/experience with insurance companies/insurance plans here? Thanks for any input.

Have you taken a look here? If you're concerned about confidentiality, use a pseudonym to get rates.

I save the money I would pay for the insurance and pay the hospital with my credit card if I ever need it.

Here in Boracay are no hospitals where they can treat you when it gets more complex. So, why pay for insurance if there is no hospital in reach.
