What would be a good amount to keep in the bank to self health insure.

Several things to take into account,,,,, many things. Your age, your health situation/medical needs, your distance to a decent private hospital etc,

I keep 1.5M pesos aside in Australia just in case as well as 1M here in the safe. Health insurance like car insurance  ads up over the years, we all make our own choices.
