Receiving visa from third country

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the visa issuance process at a Japanese embassy after receiving approval for a Business Manager visa and a Spouse visa, along with the Certificate of Eligibility (CoE).

Is it possible to have the visa issued in a country other than my country of citizenship or legal residence?

I have been living abroad for the past six years. Although I own property in this country, my legal status here is only that of a tourist.

Would I be able to apply at the local Japanese embassy and receive the visa here, so that I can travel directly to Japan afterward? Or would I be required to return to my home country and have the visa issued there instead?

Has anyone here had personal experience with this situation?

If it is possible to apply in a third country, what special documentation is typically required to do so?

Thank you in advance for any insights.
