Yes you need your birth certificate certified if it isn't already. If you aren't born in the UK then you need a birth certificate fron the place you were born and need to get it certified.

You need to certify documents of your embassy and your passport and affadavit/capacity to marry)

Some people say the basic one okay while others don't. So its a tricky one I went with the ACRO one when I got married, to be on the safe side

I will be travelling to Tangier on the 2nd March - 9th March to hopefully get married.

I have the following documents:

British passport

British birth certificate

DBS security check

Contact of employment

Payslips

What else do I need to bring along to Morocco?

Could I please have the details of your lawyer and also the translator as I am in the same situation and about to get married next month and for the DBS I am surprised you have been lucky enough as I have read on many forums that they only accept ACRO and if I may ask could you please tell me who checks the DBS the court or the adoul or the police in Morocco as that might give me a bit of an insight in to the matter.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Hi guys the marriage process in morocco aint as difficult. I just completed the marriage approval process through the marriage court. This was done in casablanca. In my experience, I found that the process is prolonged by the British embassy with the appointment. Otherwise the process is easy though I used a lawyer who's well connected.

All documents must be within 3 months except the obvious ones Birth certificate.

how long did it take for the courts to accept documents and give go ahead for marriage?

@didi1998 because I had all the documents and a well connected lawyer basically I was jumping queues.. it took 7 days.. the police report took 3 days even though they told us a a week to 2 weeks.

Please note this is not the criminal record coz this took just 3hrs.

Also I was in casablanca so I don't know about other cities. The lawyer too €1300 which covered everything except the adoul.

okay, the police record i will order a week before i arrive at casablanca. i have all my documents ready just waiting for the appointment in embassy and see doctor and will hand in all documents hopefully would all be rdy in a week as i only have two weeks off.

Personally I dont order the police records online.. I went with my lawyer to rabat again here we really literally just worked through because of him. But nothing to be worried about. 2 week or a week and half is good. But be usual u got the documents from the embassy from my experience getting an appointment was the only pain. Otherwise the team at the embassy will help u and give all u need knowing that you plan to get married
