Abe123, I can tell you're educated and familiar with Morocco. I've a few questions. Since my wife is Moroccan citizen, she can buy a car. Can I drive her car without having Moroccan resident permit and Moroccan license? Can I buy a moped or scooter without residency permit and ride it around without Moroccan license or Moroccan ID? I've heard that Morocco may start requiring registration for mopeds and scooters.

Thanks for your time.

Hi John,

I am not sure about moped and scooters. But if one is planning to drive a lot in Morocco, one better get a local Driver License, no?
I myself employ a part-time driver (I share his car with other American and British expats). It’s more economical, less headache when we need to be away, never have to deal with court for traffic accidents, and it gives steady income to a local driver. ——— I’ve learned this from a British expat who has been living and keeping residences in Tangier and Rabat for at least 30 years. Now that Morocco has a superb TGV, he uses our shared driver only to shop at Carrefour or go out to dinner late night ........
